How to End the Year and Start Anew
What’s your game plan for a better year in 2025?
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NKJV
The end of a thing is the beginning of another. This holds true for everything in life.
The end of the year leads to the beginning of another year.
The end of yourself leads to the beginning of divine encounters.
The end of an experience ushers in the beginning of many more.
The end of a project births the beginning of new ideas for another.
The end of a day brings in a new day.
It's a cycle of life that will stay true for eternity. We often cannot accept the end of one thing because we like to hold on to previous experiences.
But as the year ends, it's important to reflect on the experiences so far and let go of them to prepare for what the new year will bring.
Holding on to the past while stepping into a new year doesn't usher in a new beginning. Instead, you're just prolonging the end.
One way to let go is to rejoice and be grateful for the past experiences in the year. This frees up our hearts and prepares us for what's to come.
It's also a difficult activity because we have a mix of regrets, disappointing moments, and victories in the year. The goal is to identify what we regard as bad times but rejoice because God is behind it all, taking us to where He wants us to be.
When I feel down, I constantly have to intentionally switch to gratitude mode because I know that being depressed doesn't serve me or attract what I want.
So as we step into the new year, let's walk in rejoicing. Don't wait till January to create your goals. Do them now because it makes no difference.
This is the last article for this year. I must also follow my advice and assess my year to step into the new. I'll see you in January. Stay empowered.
